Open Surgery

From Monday 28th February 2005 we will no longer have an Open surgery each morning.

Following a review of our practice and taking into account a recent patient survey we carried out we have decided to make some changes to the running of the practice.

The open surgery has been a feature of the practice for several years but we have found that over the last few years the numbers attending this surgery have increased dramatically. We now find that on several occasions each week we have a very large number of patients wanting seen each morning and waiting often for long periods of time to be seen. This leads to dissatisfaction amongst our patients and we feel we are not able to offer the quality of service that we would like to be able to give to our patients.

For this reason we have decided to replace the open surgery with a system of booked appointments from Monday 28th February. Please be assured that we will try to have enough appointments available throughout the day to cope with all the people who would have attended the open surgery. However you will now be given an appointment time rather than have to queue and wait to be seen.

To receive an appointment either ring the surgery on the usual number (664 3050) or come in and ask at reception. However we have to point out that we cannot see anyone with out an appointment so it would probably be better to telephone in the first instance.

We hope this new system will allow us to provide a more professional and satisfactory service for all our patients but we ask that if you are a user of the system especially in the first few weeks that you bear with us through this change.
